The Brief

Hosted by the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society (LAS), Countryside Lincs is a fun-filled, family event which aims to educate young minds about Lincolnshire food, farming and countryside. 

Held at the Lincolnshire Showground, Countryside Lincs welcomes around 6,000 people each year and offers a range of activities including alpaca walks, tractor and trailer rides, archery, circus skills, animal petting and sheep shearing demonstrations.

In the event’s eighth year, we were approached to provide PR and PPC support to help the LAS raise awareness of Countryside Lincs amongst the general public, as well as drive ticket sales.

Our Approach

Working alongside the LAS’ marketing and communications team, we used PR tactics including press releases and interview opportunities to promote Countryside Lincs – with the objective of both raising awareness of the event and what it does, as well as driving ticket sales. 

We worked with local media outlets to secure three family ticket competitions and four broadcast interviews across both radio and TV, as well as organising press tickets for five publications to attend the event.

We also utilised our media contacts to achieve coverage in a number of event listings as well as local and national What’s On guides.

Meanwhile, we implemented a number of Facebook Ad campaigns designed to directly drive ticket sales. We combined a prospecting interest group strategy, alongside a remarketing campaign to influence ticket sales in the most cost-efficient manner. This strategy produced 159 ticket purchases, which produced £5.35 per £1 spent. 

As a result of our activity, Countryside Lincs 2024 saw record-breaking attendance with 6,861 tickets sold – a figure which surpassed all previous years. 

To continue generating positive results for the LAS, we were also engaged as the media partner for The Lincolnshire Show 2024, where we provided both pre-event and on-the-day press and social media support.
